I have just finished a two part feature on the US Timber Market.  It is in
interview format and Ron Wenrich, Pen State Grad and sawmill consultant, was
gracious enough to do this.

Part one discribes the procurement, milling, and distribution of lumber.
 Part two gives some insight into how to prepare for and make a timber sale
in the United States.  This discussion will give you a good idea on how
timber is bought, sold, and milled in the US.
