My question was not whether there would be an effect on local roundwood price. I can imagine that within the same local market this effect would be direct and immediate. My question dealt with the latter situation of the effect on international markets. Being fairly ignorant in economics and global market processes, I have no idea of the relative scales of roundwood exports from developing countries where fuelwood supply is critical compared to say Canada's exports of roundwood. I don't know how to interpret the numbers you posted above. Do they mean that the roundwood supply from developing countries is insignificant in its influence on the international market, and therefore the international market is relatively insensitive to changes in its supply and price, and beyond that to changes in the fuelwood supply.
