Hello, For those who haven't been scared away by the flames and the fumes, I have a scientific issue I'd like to discuss. For my graduate research, among other things, I'm trying to analyize the ecological feedbeck of landscape distribution of forest stands on stand dynamics, particularly in boreal mixedwoods. I've seen many studies on the effect of forest landscape characteristics (patch size, fragmentation, edge lenght etc..) on animals, but I have seen very few on plants. Is anybody out there working on something similar? Do you know of some good research on the issue which didn't make it to the peer reviewed journals? I'd love to hear from you, especially fellow boreal forest researcher.
