I'm a postgraduate student (specialty - forest cruising and system of
forest utilization) at National Agricultural University of Ukraine. The
theme of my thesis is "Estimation of sanitary and hygienic functions of
forest-park". My graduate work was "Ecological and economical estimation
of forest resources". We obtained economical costs of such resources as
forest land, timber, recreational value, sanitary and hygienic functions
of the forest-park, situated near Kyiv, using available methods.
Reasonably, that the cost of recreational value was the greatest (about
60 per cent of the total). Estimation of sanitary and hygienic functions
(about 20 per cent) of forest was based on so-called method of
"substitutable expenses" when we use cost of industrial production of
ecological effects.
Sanitary and hygienic functions of forest include production of oxygen,
adsorbing of carbon dioxide, pollutants, noises, emitting of biolings
(substances that have sanitary effects), and others. We found that there
is no common and stringent system of perception these function. There are
so different approaches to resolve this problem.
We would like to find people with similar interests and/or themes of
their research in order to exchange knowledge from various countries. We
would be grateful also for any information touching this issue.
