You have posed a very difficult question...how is certification going in various con tires? Very few people know because certification has not been implemented for enough years. There are various issues involved, particularly in trade and economics. Experts continue to debate whether certification has brought enough economic benefit to the stakeholders involved and adequately developed a market for certified goods. For the best information, I would suggest contacting Rainforest Alliance's Smartwood Program -- Based in NYC, they are one of the largest certifying groups in the world and may be able to provide you with case studies, etc. Another group in The Forest Stewardship Council, based in Oxaca, Mexico. It is their hope to standardize the often confusing and duplicitous requirements by the various certification bodies. Both groups are on the Web...sorry I dont have the URL's on hand.
