You can find lots more info on Java at www.javasoft.com. In my opinion it has many advantages over C++. A few of these would be: 1. Built in memory management. 2. No more pointer arithmetic! 3. The promise of true multi-platform support. etc etc. Take a look and let me know what you think. Forest Growth Models are not my thing, I'm into Harvest Planning, both in terms of support for short term operational planning and long-term planning issues such as block-building and scheduling. I'm using Java and am very pleased with it. Cheers, Alun Evans (Dr) MacMillan Bloedel Ltd Nanaimo, BC
