Indufor is currently implementing a Forest Policy Study in Tanzania under a contract with GTZ, Germany. As a part of that Study, we are planning to arrange study tours for Tanzanian senior forestry sector staff to see successful examples of projects in the East / Southern Africa region. The type of projects or activities we are particularly interested in are: (i) Joint Forest Management Contracts / Agreements (i.e. public sector forests managed jointly with communities, farmers, private sector) (ii) Forest sector privatisation: both industries, services, and forest resources (iii) Ecotourism in forest areas If you know of any successful exercise / project related to these issues, please send a message to tapani.oksanen@indufor.fi or as a reply to my posting.
