Forest Fire Science/ Fire Management

The Faculty of Forestry at Lakehead University invites applications for a
probationary (tenure-track) appointment in Forest Fire Science/ Fire
Management effective July 1, 1997. The programs which the Faculty
delivers are: Diploma in Integrated Forest Resources Management, Honours
Bachelor of Science in Forestry (Regular and Co-Op options), Master of
Science in Forestry and Master of Forestry.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in fire
science/management, provide graduate instruction and provide thesis
supervision at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Forestry
instruction at Lakehead University centres on the Boreal, Great Lakes-St.
Lawrence and Deciduous Forest Regions. The candidate will be expected to
develop a research programme in his/her area of interest and participate
in the administration of the Faculty and the University.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in forest fire science or management.
Field experience and experience in modelling natural disturbances would
be assets.  This position is subject to budgetary approval.
