To members of the Forest List,

In the 20th. Session of the International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC)
convened in Manila, Philippines, 15-23 May, 1996. The ITTC authorised
the Executive Director to request the Secretary General of the United
Nations Convention on Trade and Development to convene a conference of
countries which have ratified the new agreement (ITTA 1994) sometime
during the Third Session of the Inter-Government Panel on Forests of the
United Nations Commission for Sustainable Development (as scheduled in
Geneva, 9-20 September, 1996), to decide to bring the ITTA 1994 into
force.

Would appreciate it very much if someone could provide the updates
pertaining to the abovementioned.
