It often seems that gullability knows no bounds. In this case, though, it appears to
the the poster of this message who was gulled. The posting, one of those classic "I
heard this from a friend of my friend who swears its true," is in fact a slightly
altered version of a deliberately humorous article posted by some geeks in Santa Cruz,
CA. You can see it for yourself:

This goes back to something Dan Binkley said a long time ago on this list: that we
should be careful to attribute sources for what we say. This is not, and shouldn't be,
a forum for pointless polemics (there's plenty of room for that on the Web), but for
reasoned argument. Even the sometimes heated discussions about forestry and indigenous
peoples have generally hewed closely to verifiable evidence (or as closely as possible).
