Greetings from northeast Iowa! Does anyone have experience with or know of publications pertaining to establishing oak seedlings in harvest areas where the predominant ground cover is stinging nettle? We have had problems with this in the past. Is nettle an allelopath? What is the best way to get rid of it? Is the presence of stinging nettle an indication of past grazing or agriculture? Any info would be appreciated.
