I am working on a research project in southern Madagascar looking at
landscape development and exploitation over the last three or four
hundred years.

Part of the project involves identifying primary and secondary forests in
this semi-arid region.

Does anyone know of researchers working in this area or can direct me to
references on the vegetation of this region?
