The conference location:

Mount Gambier, Blue Lake City and centre of the Green Triangle Region.
Mount Gambier is the centre of Australia's most developed softwood forestry
region, the Green Triangle Region.
The Green Triangle Region covers both sides of the South
Australian/Victorian border and includes not only large tracts of pine
plantations, and more recently eucalypt plantations but also the world
renown Coonawarra wine growing district. Mount Gambier is also famous for
its Blue Lake which changes colour each year to a brilliant blue in the
spring and changes back to a blue-grey in the autumn.
Mount Gambier is roughly 440 km from both Melbourne and Adelaide. It is
serviced by two airlines. Ansett Airlines, the official carrier for the
conference connects to Mount Gambier from both Melbourne and Adelaide
with Kendall Airlines. Ansett Airlines will provide discounted fares for
conference delegates.
While in Mount Gambier, conference delegates will have the opportunity to
see a range of forestry activities. For those wishing to stay for the post
conference tour, visits will be arranged to a number of the processing plants.
The conference organisers have pre-booked accommodation for delegates. For
those wishing to have their accommodation arranged, simply indicate on the
registration form.
