Does anyone know if there is a measuring rod for direct computer collection 
of tree heights, i.e. e.g. a telescopic rod, which when the tip is placed at 
the top of the tree can discharge a digital signal (through e.g. IR) into a 
hand-held computer? (Cf. automatic calipers)
