This is a reminder that due-date for early registration is March 1 for the 2nd International Symposium on Spatial Accuracy Assessment in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Registration is possible up until the conference (May 21-23), but fees increase after March 1, and again after May 1. If you plan to attend this symposium, please register by March 1 if possible. Early registration will greatly help us plan publication details for the proceedings. We plan to distribute published proceedings during the symposium. Symposium summary follows:
Announcing the Second International Symposium on Spatial Accuracy
Assessment in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences
The Second International Symposium on Spatial Accuracy Assessment
in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences will be held May
21-23, 1996 at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado,
USA. More than ninety submitted and invited presentations are
scheduled in 23 informative sessions, with time for stimulating,
open discussion. Topics include accuracy related aspects of
spatial statistics, GIS, remote sensing, and multidisciplinary
approaches. Keynote speakers and plenary sessions will be
featured each morning, with concurrent sessions each afternoon.
Proceedings will be published by US Forest Service Research, will
be distributed at the Symposium, and sent to numerous libraries
and research institutions at no cost. No simultaneous translation
will be provided, and English will be the predominant language.
Attendance is limited to 350. The primary sponsor is the Rocky

Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO): Sections 4.01,
4.02, 4.11, and 4.12; American Statistical Association: Section on
Statistics and the Environment; National Center for Geographic
Information and Analysis (USA); International Biometric Society;
American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing: GIS
Division; European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories:
Special Interest Group on Landuse Planning and Forestry; and the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. For more information and
