I am trying to compile information about different options to use when making temporary stream and wetland crossings during skidding and hauling operations. Some of the stream crossing options that I am aware of include fords, culverts, bridges (glulam, steel, wooden timbers), and PVC pipes. Wetland crossing options include tire mats, low ground pressure equipment, and wooden mats. 1. Can you tell me about any additional options that you are aware of? 2. Can you provide me informational sources for any studies which have quantified short-term and/or long-term impacts (e.g., turbidity, conductivity, length of time of any impacts) associated with the installation, use, and/or removal of one or more of these different options? Thank you for your assistance. **************************************************************** Charlie Blinn Voice: (612) 624-3788 Department of Forest Resources FAX: (612) 625-5212 University of Minnesota E-mail: cblinn@forestry.umn.edu 1530 North Cleveland Ave. St. Paul, MN 55108 DG users should address correspondence to: internet!forestry.umn.edu!cblinn@att:x400
