REQUEST FOR INFORMATION from Iain Angus and Associates
I am looking for information/research papers/books/newsletters etc. [or
people to contact] dealing with non-traditional or unique methods of
transporting logs from remote forests to the receiving mills.
The methods may range from the use of helicopters to chips in pipelines to a
different type of road construction. The intent is to develop a
forest-specific system for transporting the raw fibre, at the lowest cost to
the harvester [and to the providers of public infrastructure] with the least
amount of impact on the environment.
If possible I want to be able to draw on the work of others rather than
re-inventing the wheel.
