INVENTORY POSITION IN PAKISTAN
"We may need to hire someone to work here for two years doing a province wide
forest resource reconnaissance survey using Landsat TM and PC Arc Info. Most
likely, this will be a sub-project affiliated with the Forest Management
Centre.
The person we may need should be a professional forester with very good
inventory skills with lots of hands on experience in the use of TM and GPS and
GIS for broadscale forest resource mapping, especially in mountainous areas.
Excellent English language skill is essential. Previous experience in the
Indian sub-continent would be advantageous though not essential. Previous
professional work in a developing country would be highly desirable. The
position would be based in Peshawar. Ideally this person would have at least 10
years professional work experience - both women and men candidates would be
considered, though women candidates should have some previous experience of
living and working in a Muslim society. Depending on qualifications and
experience, salary may be around U.S. S77,000 per year and is tax free. Other
expatriate employment benefits are also available.
Availability to commence this job by the end of March 1996 is highly
desirable."
