Donald Mansius gives a good update on the Maine Council on Sustainable Forest Management. It appears that Joachim Maier's concern about whether an economist should be a member of the council is in part answered by economic concerns being beyond the mission of the froup. I would like to ask how the scenic aspects, which are part of the mission and the Northern Forest Lands standards, is to be addressed? As someone whose training, research and professional practice is related to this area, I did not see any obvious way it was addressed by the members as discribed.
