I realize many do not understand the difference between the US Park Service and the US Forest Service. The US Forest Service does not administer the Wrangell-St Elias wilderness area. The US Forest Service does administer 2.3 million hectares of wilderness in Alaska. I belive you can find forests on much of this area. It is true that the US Forest Service administers 1.5 million hectares of grasslands and I do not know how much of the USFS grasslands are also in wilderness areas.
