Job Advertisement Chief Executive, Liro Ltd Liro Ltd is a jointly owned company between New Zealand Forest Research Institute (NZFRI) and the NZ Logging Industry Research Association (Inc) (LIRA). The company undertakes research into all phases of tree harvesting and transportation sector of the forest industry. The company has a staff of 26 and an annual budget of ca $2 million derived from a mixture of industry levy/membership, Government funding and internally generated revenue. The Chief Executive is responsible to the Liro Ltd Board of Directors for the management of the company. They will also form part of the NZFRI Executive Management team and report three monthly to the LIRA Board of Management. It is anticipated that the person appointed to the position will have: - strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; - demonstrated experience at a senior level in the forestry sector; - understanding of management requirements in a research-based organisation; - a strategic perspective of forest industry challenges and research opportunities; - a minimum tertiary qualification in an appropriate field.
