PAPERS FROM THE YALE PROGRAM ON SOLID WASTE POLICY
The Yale Program on Solid Waste Policy announces three working
papers on solid waste policy. The Program, a research and teaching unit of
the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University,
publishes the Working Paper Series on Solid Waste Policy to fill in critical
gaps in research and analysis and to advance the policy debate in solid
waste management.
Of particular interest to members of the Forest list are a new paper
that examines the impact of paper recycling on global forest harvests and a
paper on logistical (transport) packaging which discusses the changing role
of corrugated containers.
The working papers that are currently available include:
1. Does the Solid Waste Hierarchy Make Sense? A Technical, Economic and
Environmental Justification for the Priority of Source Reduction and
Recycling, by John Schall.
2. Less Waste on the Loading Dock: Competitive Strategy and the Reduction of
Logistical Packaging Waste, by Prof. Diana Twede.
3. What Won't Get Harvested, Where and When: The Effects of Increased Paper
Recycling on Timber Harvest, by Dr. Peter Ince.
If you would like information on ordering any of the papers, please send
e-mail to pswp@yale.edu.
Abstracts of the papers are also available via e-mail.
Please excuse any redundant notices of this announcement as it is has been
