Dear Forest Group,

About 4-5 months ago I requested help on a project for the APA- The
Engineered Wood Association.  This was a report, which is to go to all member
companies, on overseas sources of veneer for U.S. producers.  The report will
also include proposed new projects, or plants now still only in the planning
stage, which may produce surplus veneer for export.  After a rather lengthy
editing process, the report is just about ready for printing.  I'd ask for
any last minute comments or news--- anyone involved with or knowing of a new
project to produce veneer (construction grades primarily, not for furniture)
for export, possibly for export to the U.S., please let me know.  The idea is
to provide information to U.S. plywood producers who may be interested in
pursuing overseas joint ventures or just overseas sources of veneer.  Please
contact me soon if you wish to be included in this report.
