UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD
Department of Plant Sciences in Association with Wolfson College
University Lecturership in Forestry

Applications are invited from plant biologists and forest scientists
with a proven record of research and teaching.  The post is tenable
from 1 October 1996 or as soon as possible thereafter, although an
earlier starting date may be negotiable.  The appointee will be
expected to carry out high-quality research related to modern
forestry.  Preference will be given to those familiar with the use
of molecular techniques and whose work would integrate with the
other principal strengths of the Department (Developmental Genetics,
Biochemistry, Pathology & Systematics).  The postholder will
contribute to the organisation of and teach in the
internationally-renowned M.Sc. course in Forestry and its relation
to land use, as well as to the teaching of undergraduate courses in
Biology.  The appointee will be expected to participate in the
Oxford Forestry Institute's advisory and consultancy work for
overseas governments and development agencies.  The successful
candidate may be offered an official but non-stipendiary Fellowship
by Wolfson College.  Stipend according to age on the scale stlg15,154 -
stlg28,215.
