Re: public attitudes to clear-cutting. Read the Oregonian (Portland, OR)
and various other Oregon state newspapers, and also Washington state
newspapers (Seattle Post Intelligencer, Seattle Times, etc.) almost any
week... recent big flare-up in Oregon over clearcutting made front-page
news in the Oregonian (and probably Eugene Register Guard) within the
past 2-3 weeks. Sorry I don't hav specifics, but if you have a good
library handy, you can probably find one or two of these pepaers on
microfiche.
