I am trying to gather some information on wet process hardboard
products but everything I get my hands on seems to indicate that it is
a mature product with no foreseeable future.
Does anyone know of any information regarding markets and projected
demand for hardboard (or alternatively environmental or economic
reasons as to why this product has lost its popularity).
Is it as simple as the fact that Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) and
Oriented Strand Board (OSB) have simply flooded the hardboard market
because of their versatility or are there still niche markets out
there where it is being sold? Are hardboard mills cost competitive?
Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.
JKD.
