Dear subscribers of the Forest-list. Please, try to create more informative Subject -lines in your messages. For example, we receive several messages per month for open positions with the vague subject-heading "Position announcement" or similar. Instead, you should fill in the type or name or the position or the required education level in addition to the location/country of the post. The final application date at the end could also be of interest. Here are a couple of real examples from recent months transformed into a better format: "JOB: Forest engineer/Forestry Operations Researcher, Australia" "JOB: Position open for a Ph.D. in wood sciences" "JOB: teaching and research on wood-based panels and wood anatomy" "JOB: Biometrician or Mensurationist at NZ FRI" "JOB: Field Technician Coweeta LTER Site, NC, USA - by 29-Sep-95" "JOB: POSTDOC. for a Ph.D in genetics or a related field, Australia" "JOB: ACADEMIC POSITION in Forest Genetics and Tree Improvement, Brazil" Please note that the more informative your Subject is the more likely it is going to be read, and remember to add the topic "JOB:" at the beginning. Thank you for your support, Jarmo Saarikko the listowner forest-request@listserv.funet.fi -- Finnish Forest Research Institute METLA, Helsinki Research Centre, EMIT-laboratory
