Dear Bob,

FAO provides its WAICENT database through the Internet.
There you may find several forestry databases. One particular is

Directory of Forestry Research Organizations - 1995

"This handy directory provides a concise guide to about 750
forestry research organizations in 112 countries. (Gopher)
Responsible Division FORC - Last Update 2/3/95 "

The list of countries in this database is at:
gopher://faov02.fao.org/11gopher_root%3a%5bfao.fo_res.country%5d
(the FAO WWW homepage is at http://www.fao.org/)

and the information for Congo from that database is here:
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another example:
