FOREST SOILS, SPLITTING THE FORESTNET Although having been on the ForestNet for only a short while, I have noticed a distinct lack of discussion on the very substrate that all forests and plantations depend : the forest soils. Please could you Jaarmo, or anyone else interesteed in this post a list of maiing lists / sites to the net? While on the blower, I find that very few of the ForestNet subscribers use the TOPIC categories in the subject line. May I therefore suggest two changes? 1 The forest list is split into the individual catagories TOPICs (or sub-groups of them); 2 The ForestNet have a separate component for those interested _only_ in plantations. There is a fair amount of discussion on this, and the management of forests proper, although interesting, is not relevant to a lot of subscribers, I am sure. Pleas use them in the "Subject:" of your e-mail messages and design the rest of the line wisely to indicate what topic you are discussing. * Topics = EVENT,JOB,PUBLICATION,POLICY,EDUCATION * Topics = ANALYSIS,PRODUCTS,TECHNOLOGY,MANAGEMENT (POLICY= forest-policy, PRODUCTS=forest-products, etc.) Other keywords may also be used, but then messages are sent to all subscribers. In my opinion, the keywords are mainly useful for filtering OUT unwanted topics or threads of discussion.
