ACADEMIC POSITION

Forest Genetics and Tree Improvement

Applications are invited from suitably qualified
persons for the above position at University of
Sao Paulo, Brazil.
   Minimum qualification is Ph.D. or equivalent.
   Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish is required.

It is a full time position and duties include:
   Research on forest genetics and tree improvement.
   Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses for forestry students.
   Orientation of graduate students.

Prospective candidates should be knowledgeable about:
   population genetics,
   quantitative genetics,
   genetic structure of tree populations,
   tree improvement and selection methods,
   genotype-environment interaction,
   production of tree species hybrids,
   advanced technologies in forest genetics
        such as isoenzim and molecular markers,
   biometrics applied to genetic markers.

Selected candidates will be invited to an examination
that includes an interview, a written test and the
presentation of a class at undergraduate level.
