Dear Netters, My institute, the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), is undertaking a project to relocate big trees (at least 20 meters tall and about 25cm. diameter) from the natural forest to a development area. We are looking for individuals who have had hands-on experience to come and see what we are doing and advise us on ways of improving our techniques. We will cover all expenses and provide adequate honorarium. The period in Malaysia should be between two weeks to a month. If interested, please let me know your expected terms and when you can come. FRIM is also looking for experts and experienced scientists who would like to work in FRIM for a period of up to three years contract (which could be renewed) in a number of fields, such as biotechnology, genetic improvement of trees (all aspects), basic sciences related to forestry, pulping technology, new areas of wood utilisation, and a host of other fields.
