I am just completing a report which assesses the ability of the vegetation in eastern Manitoba to recover from logging relative to fire. Recovery sequences were grouped based on site conditions. The dominant soils of the area are shallow mineral soils ( < 100 cm deep) and bogs (surface organic layer > 20 cm thick). The report covers 3 types of shallow soils and 1 organic and is based on data collected at about 600 plots. The report should be available for distribution in about one month. Please let me know if you are interested in receiving a copy.
