I think, i did not answer then, if I did, I apologize for repetition.

I am not directly aware of any future/option market for timber, but it
seems from the literature (e.g. a Financial Times Survey, I can look
up the date), that commodities, at least the more commonly traded
ones, are used widely as investment instruments.

I myself am new in this business (forest economics consultant in
Eastern Europe for a Danish consulting company), hence, I can not
point out a great number of references to you. However, I would be
happy to keep in contact on the subject.
