The Network will work to link and network scholars working in fields related to small islands, promote a collaborative approach to research, reduce research overlap, as well as act as an information base of research on island issues for use by scholars. Under the Network, the UNU has initiated a number of projects which are outlined in the pursuing seminar, as well as name its Network advisors, and outline its plan for further action and linkages with other active international organizations. About the Author: ----------------- Mr. Glen Paoletto is the Network Coordinator of the Small Islands Network at the UNU Headquarters based in Tokyo, Japan. He is graduate of the University of Queensland, Australia, he served as Research Fellow in International Environmental Law at the University of Tokyo, before taking up position with the UNU. At UNU, Glen Paoletto is primarily responsible for the Programme on Environmental Law and Governance, which deals with international environmental law and governance issues related to sustainable development, as well as teacher training.
