The theme of the workshop is "Conservation - Biodiversity - Cooperation: A practioner's look at habitat conservation issues through partnerships and cooperation". The three day workshop will feature keynote plenary session addresses by Dr. James Patterson (Ducks Unlimited) regarding national and international changes affecting habitat managers, Dr. Graham Daborn (Acadia University) regarding cooperation and partnerships with NGO's and Dr. Robert Carswell (Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Nature Conservancy of Canada) regarding Management and Aquisition Realities for the 21st Century. In addition, a series of concurrent workshops will be held regarding: Biodiversity Conservation Mechanisms Partnerships Conservation in Working Landscapes Habitat Enhancement and Restoration Sustainable Habitat Use Protective Mechanisms Marine and Coastal Issues Monitoring and Research In addition, a series of field trips to local wildlife areas as well as a banquet and a lobster boil have been arranged.
