when to reply

When to use the "reply" key and when not to....I can understand
replying personally to someone for request of a book or
information on equipment, etc.  However, I would like to see
more general replies ON THIS LISTSERV to issues such as have been
raised by Jim Caravan (writing concept paper on private forest
lands) and Tom (seeking info on land managed by NGO's).  Please
share this information with the list...both of these subject
areas are of great interest to me.  Most of the list now has to
do with job availability and resumes, or questions about where
to find something.  I would be interested to know if others
share the desire to see more substantive material on this
listserv.
