LECTURER (Level B)/ SENIOR LECTURER (Level C ) IN SILVICULTURE (Continuing)
The Department of Forestry at the Australian National University conducts
teaching and research relevant to the conservation and sustainable use of
forests.
Due to the retirement of Dr R G Florence at the end of 1995 the Department
is seeking a forest scientist to lead teaching and research in the ecology,
silviculture and management of, primarily, Australian forests. The
successful applicant will have a strong background in forest ecology and
experience or interest in, applying ecological principles to the
sustainable management of Australia's native forests and hardwood
plantations. He/she will be required to teach at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels, to develop and lead research programs in forest
ecology and silviculture, and to supervise postgraduate students in these
fields.
The appointee will be required to take up duties early in January 1996 in
order to commence teaching in first semester 1996.
