IUFRO is the International Union of Forestry Research Organization which consists of ovaer 710 private, government, and academic research organization representing over 15000 scientists from 111 countries. S. 4.02 and 4.12 are two subject groups within IUFRO representing resource inventory and monitoring and remote sensing technology respectively. Our newsletter is published twice a year and mailed out in hard copy to over 2200 addresses in some 160 countries. It is also made available through Internet. We seek information on related meeting notices (workshops, symposia, conferences), new publications, general information and news, request for assistance in a technical area, short notes on new technology or applications, and information of global interest.
