I am very interested in the issues of destruction of forests. I spent a year in Oregon USA when I was a high school students. I lived in a small town called Clatskanie. This town is located at near west coast of Oregon and it is pretty close to famous Astoria and Washington state. I lived there as a foreign exchange student of AFS and stayed with one family. We often went to day hiking and climbing and so on. Oregon was wonderful place!! I mean Oregon has such rich nature, beautiful weather and nice people. I saw many wild animals that can't be seen in Japan, too. Although Oregon seems to have no trouble on their environment, they do have many serious problem. The major problem was destruction fo forest, I think and I saw many forests those were at near my house were disapeared. Japan now has same problem, too. Since Japan has so many people and such small country that people always have trouble to find the place to live. So many companies cut trees down and built houses and apartment, then the environment of those areas become polluted. It is a very difficult and serious problem. We need to do something before it becomes too late.
