---------------------Forwarded Message------------------------------- Date: Tue, 27 Jun 1995 12:26:18 -0700 (PDT) From: Audrey Pearson <afp@debris.lternet.washington.edu> Subject: volunteers needed in Clayoquot Sound I need help from volunteers to complete a study in natural disturbances in the old-growth forests of Clayoquot Sound. Each volunteer session would be approximately two weeks during the period of mid-July to mid-September. While the work is technically easy, it is very physically demanding. You must be prepared to clamber over all the obstacles the coastal forest can offer in the pouring rain. And camp in the bush in a tent for two weeks. With the bears and the resident cougar. All food will be provided as will transport from Seattle, Vancouver or along the way to Tofino (or somewhere else close). Since funding is tight, I can't offer any salary, but I can offer a chance to spend time in a wild forest, and I will try and teach you what I can about them. If you are interested, please send me a short note (by email, fax or mail) by Friday July 7, detailing -your outdoor experience -your availability -and why you would like to volunteer in Clayoquot Sound Please forward this message to anyone who you think would be interested.
