ANNOUNCEMENT AND FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS FOR
CONFERENCE ON ECOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT
OF SOUTHERN FORESTED WETLANDS
The Consortium for Research on Southern Forest Wetlands is
sponsoring a conference on the Ecology and Management of Southern
Forested Wetlands. It will be held March 25-27, 1996 at Clemson
University in South Carolina. A major portion of the conference
will feature invited presentations on general characteristics of
southern forested wetlands and on ecology and management of
specific wetland types.
The Consortium is also soliciting volunteer poster and oral
presentations on any topic closely related to forested wetland
ecology and management. Papers that emphasize ecological
processes and effects of management practices on wetland
functions are particularly relevant. Volunteered papers will be
published in conference proceedings.
Interested presenters should submit a prospective title and
indicate preference for oral or poster format by July 15, 1995 to
Dr. Kathryn Flynn, School of Forestry, 108 M. White Smith Hall,

1, 1995 and the completed paper due at conference time. For
