Research Technician II.
The research technician will assist in implementing and
conducting shrub ecology and grazing research in South Texas.
Research emphasis is on understanding the mechanisms of community
change after disturbance. Current research projects are investigating
(1) shrub population dynamics after fire and grazing and (2) the
relationships between shrub spatial patterns and herbivore
utilization. Duties will include approximately 40% field work and 60%
laboratory and data analysis. Familiarity with PC-based geographic
information systems is required. A B.S. degree is required, although
an M.S. is preferred, in ecology, range science or a closely related
