TRAVELING FOREIGN SCHOLAR AWARD
to attend
Integration of Cultural and Natural Ecosystems
Across Landscapes: Application of the Science
Eleventh US Landscape Ecology Symposium
Galveston, Texas
26-30 March 1996
Each year US-IALE (U.S. Regional Association of the International Association of
Landscape Ecology) offers an award to a foreign participant attending the US
symposium. The award is based on the quality of the abstract submitted to the
meeting and the author's need for support in order to attend the meetings.
Preference is given to colleagues from developing countries, particularly in the
Americas. The award comes with a cash prize of up to $800 US for travel to
the Eleventh Annual US Landscape Ecology Symposium. The successful
applicant will be informed by January 7, 1996.
Past recipients include Timothy Lynam, World Wide Fund for Nature in
Zimbabwe, Nuri Trigo of the Metropolitan University of Mexico, and Xiao Duning
of the Institute of Applied Ecology in P.R. China. Because few people have
applied for the award in the past, we urge you to identify yourself or another
person as a deserving candidate.
