I am seeking addresses for forestry research organizations and forest
scientists involved in existing programs to inventory and monitor
non-timber forest resources in other countries. I would like to get
detailed descriptions of inventory and monitoring protocols if
possible as a means to guide initial attempts to establish comparable
protocols for non-timber forest resources on the 3 adaptive
management areas (AMAs) in the Pacific Northwest that have been
designated international model forests. From my reading, I suspect
that the countries with good inventorying structures in place would
be: Belarus, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, India,
Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Sweden, and Ukraine. If you know
of other countries that I have missed, I appreciate knowing about
them as well. Thanks for your help. Please don't hesitate to call
me if you have a question. My work number is (503) 321-5905. Jim
Weigand
