small mammals and woody debris: I am currently researching how small mammals, mycorrhizal fungi, etc., are affected by the quantity and arrangement of coarse woody debris in areas that have been burned by forest fire and subjected to salvage timber harvest. Emphasis is in Ponderosa Pine/Douglas Fir forests on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountain range of the Pacific Northwest.
