As part of our effort to up-grade or library and the curriculum for our
graduate students here at AUN (and for our collaborating institutions in
East-Africa, Asia,
and Central America), we are looking for up-to-date and current textbooks
and articles on tropical forestry. The literature should cover arid and
semi-arid areas
with an emphasis on humid forest ecosystems. Both large and small-scale
(peasant systems) operations are of interest. The categories are:

* Silviculture and rehabilitation of degraded lands (most needed)
* Ecosystem and plant ecology
* Management and policy
* Resource economics
* Products (also NTFP's) and industry
* Harvesting and techniques
* Road construction and planning
* Inventory and measurement
* Research methodology (general)

Please, forward to relevant resource persons and libraries.
