Tasman Forestry, a plantation forestry company with main offices in New Zealand, is seeking to employ a GENETIC RESOURCES MANAGER. The work programmes are primarily focussed on coniferous and eucalyptus species. The person we seek is desired to have experience in Tree Improvement/Tree Breeding and Propagation in an advanced plantation forestry setting. Data management and an understanding of quantitative genetics are desirable skills. Our Biotechnology Centre, located in the Bay of Plenty area, consists of a large-scale commercial Tissue Culture facility which has deployed 400o clones to field performance testing, a Molecular Biology laboratory, climate-controlled glasshouse facilities, a nursery with a production capacity of 12 million treestocks, and 100 ha of seed orchards and genetic archives.
