  Soil Restoration Ecologist - Competition FR95:857
  LICENSE SCIENCE OFFICER 3 $51,186-$56,530
  Location: Victoria, B.C., Research Branch, British Columbia 
  Ministry of Forests.
  Description: Implement research programs in soil biodiversity 
  and watershed restoration; prepare forest soils restoration 
  research program proposals; train and instruct 
  ministry/industry personnel in research findings; consult with
  ministry and industry personnel; monitor consultants engaged in 
  forest soils restoration research projects; and other related 
  duties.
  Qualifications: Masters degree in soil biology/ecology, and 
  three years experience, or a PhD in soil biology/ecology and 
  one year related experience, or equivalent combination of 
  education and experience; familiarity with the application of 
  research methods; RPF with ABCPF or PAg with BCIA (or 
  eligible).

  plans; collaborate with research biologists/geneticists in the

  groups and research client needs; monitor extension impacts by 
  developing and applying quantitative and qualitative measures; 
  perform other related duties.
  Qualifications: B.Sc. in forestry, biology or resource 
  management with 5-7 years experience in research, communication 
  and/or application of biological information in resource 
  management decision-making; post graduate degree (with 3-5 
  years experience) preferred; RPF with ABCPF or PAg with BCIA

  Research Scientist, Mixed-wood Stand Dynamics - FR95:900  
  Scientific Technical Officer 6 $46,230-$52,955
  Location: Prince George, B.C., Research Branch, British 
  Columbia Ministry of Forests.
  Description: Prepares research proposals that address issues 
  relating to the management of mixed-wood stands; plan/implement 
  priority research in mixed-wood stand dynamics; maintain and 
  communicate up-to-date information on mixed-wood management 
  research; and perform other related duties.
  Qualifications:  PhD in forest science; extensive experience in 
  forestry research including significant journal contributions 
  to the fields of hardwood and/or mixed-wood silviculture and 


  ecology; M.Sc. in an apropriate discipline, plus three 
  years experience may be considered; knowledge of mixed-wood 
  silviculture, ecology and stand dynamics.
