MESSAGE FROM MR. M. B. MEHTA:

Sir/Madam:

I am a forester and environmentalist with 32 years of experience from India. 
In December 1994, I retired from the federal Indian Forest Service, at the 
super annuation age of 58 years in India. I am visiting the 
United States until 28 June, 1995. I would like to take the opportunity of 
meeting you and other members of your institution, and share our thoughts 
on various issues of forestry development, especially in developing countries. 
I am also available to give talks on various topics to students and other 
professionals within your organization. Few of the subjects I can speak on 
are listed below:

1. Humane Treatment to catchment area of Sardar Sarovar Project 
(a multi-purpose dam constructed on river Narmada in India).

2. Problems of creating common property resources in saline and arid lands - a 
case study of Kachchh District of Gujarat State in India.

3. Approaches to Development of Forest - a store house of natural drugs.

4. Agriculture in forests - A case study of unauthorized cultivation in forests 
of Gujarat State.

5. Experience as manager of forests in a developing country - India.

retirement, I have worked as an advisor (environment) to the world-famous 
Sardar Sarovar Project, and as an associate consultant with Euro-Consultants 
(a Netherlands-based company) in India.
