BTI Environmental Biology WWW Site

Announcing the WWW site of the Environmental Biology Program of Boyce
Thompson Institute for Plant Research at:

                                      http://birch.cit.cornell.edu

The Environmental Biology Program is one of four research programs at Boyce
Thompson Institute, a private not-for-profit organization affiliated with
Cornell University and dedicated to research on plants and associated
organisms for the betterment of society. The program is made up of over 30
scientists, technicians, and graduate students working to fulfill our
mission of studying the interaction of plants and the environment, and
providing information that will help shape environmental policy throughout
the world. Our research spans many levels of biological organization, from
studies of individual plant organs to ecosystems and larger geographical
regions.

The server contains details and highlights of the many research projects
within the Program, as well as information about the staff and an
illustrated description of our facilities. Reprints of publications can
also be ordered. Future plans include expansion of access to research
summaries and demonstrations of single-plant and ecological models under
development.

This site is new and under development. Our goal is to make it a source of
information for anyone interested in plants and the environment -- from
scientists and policymakers to students of all ages. Please visit and feel
free to offer suggestions or comments.
